Chemiluminescence refers to the phenomenon of emitting visible light in some special chemical reactions. Its luminescence mechanism is that some substances in the reaction system absorb the energy released by the reaction and transition from the ground state to the excited state. When returning from the excited state to the ground state, the energy will be released in the form of light radiation to generate luminescence. Among many chemiluminescent reagents, Luminol reagents have become the most widely used chemiluminescent reagents because of their high luminescent quantum yield and good water solubility, which can react with a variety of oxidants. Their luminescence mechanism is oxidation reaction luminescence. They are catalyzed by horseradish peroxidase under alkaline conditions and oxidized by isoluminol to produce their excited state intermediates that return to aminophthalic acid.
